En ESCULTURAS VIVAS, reúno fotografías tomadas en lugares muy diversos, nacidas de mi fascinación por las estructuras que conforman los árboles, las plantas y el bosque como organismo vivo: la división de las ramas, el despliegue de las hojas, el trazado de las raíces y su cambio a lo largo de las estaciones. He intentado capturar en ellas la fuerza vital y la energía concentrada de la naturaleza, así como la manera en que la luz, la humedad y la atmósfera interactúan, modelando las formas para que cada instante ofrezca una nueva lectura.
Este trabajo mantiene una deuda creativa con Karl Blossfeldt y, entre otros grandes fotógrafos de naturaleza y paisaje, con una tradición visual que ha sabido encontrar en la forma natural una fuente de belleza y misterio. Sus estudios de plantas, concebidos inicialmente como observaciones descriptivas y científicas, revelaron con el tiempo una dimensión escultórica y artística que trasciende su intención documental.
En esa misma línea, busco en mis fotografías las formas estructurales que sostienen la belleza y el misterio: arquitecturas naturales, gestos, tensiones, ritmos y equilibrios que, en ocasiones, se aproximan a la abstracción. A través del encuadre, estas formas se desprenden de su entorno inmediato y pueden contemplarse no solo como sujetos botánicos, sino también como patrones, estructuras y construcciones dotadas de una presencia visual propia. Aislando detalles o simplificando escenas, las plantas y árboles familiares, con sus formas modeladas por la evolución, se traducen en composiciones bidimensionales y monocromáticas de textura, forma y volumen. Son imágenes que aspiran a cierta atemporalidad, más allá de los calendarios y de las huellas del tiempo humano.
LIVING SCULPTURES

In LIVING SCULPTURES, I bring together photographs taken in highly diverse locations, born from my fascination with the structures that shape trees, plants, and the forest as a living organism: the splitting of branches, the unfurling of leaves, the tracing of roots, and their transformation throughout the seasons. I have sought to capture in them the vital force and concentrated energy of nature, as well as the way light, humidity, and atmosphere interact, shaping forms so that every instant offers a new reading.
This work holds a creative debt to Karl Blossfeldt and, among other great nature and landscape photographers, to a visual tradition that has known how to find a source of beauty and mystery in natural forms. His studies of plants, initially conceived as descriptive and scientific observations, revealed over time a sculptural and artistic dimension that transcends their documentary intention.
Along those same lines, I seek out the structural forms in my photographs that sustain beauty and mystery: natural architectures, gestures, tensions, rhythms, and balances that, at times, approach abstraction. Through framing, these forms are detached from their immediate surroundings and can be contemplated not only as botanical subjects but also as patterns, structures, and constructions endowed with their own visual presence. By isolating details or simplifying scenes, familiar plants and trees—with their forms modelled by evolution—translate into two-dimensional, monochromatic compositions of texture, shape, and volume. They are images that aspire to a certain timelessness, beyond calendars and the footprints of human time.
